Blake Lively Announces Met Gala Absence: The Hollywood Duo Will Be Greatly Missed

Behold! The world of high fashion has been struck with mournful news. The dazzling Blake Lively, whose red-carpet appearances have left many of us gasping for breath, has unfortunately announced that she will not be gracing the Met Gala with her presence this year.

During the lavish Fifth Avenue reopening gala for Tiffany & Co. in New York City on Thursday night, People’s interviewer asked if the actress would be making an appearance at the most anticipated event in the fashion industry. With a flash of regret, Lively replied, “You will not,” while adding that she would be watching closely from the comforts of her own home.

As the conversation drifted to her previous attendance, the interviewer complimented her outfit for the 2022 Met Gala, to which Lively responded with gratitude, saying, “Thank you, that’s very sweet. I’ll be wearing that on my couch on Monday.”

Although Lively didn’t elaborate on her reasons for staying away from the red carpet, it isn’t entirely unexpected, given that she and her partner, Ryan Reynolds recently welcomed their fourth child into the world. However, the absence of this esteemed couple will undoubtedly leave a void in the Met Gala’s pageantry.

The epitome of Hollywood glamor, this magnificent duo has been crowned red-carpet royalty and captured the hearts of fashion enthusiasts worldwide with their stunning ensembles. At the 2022 Met Gala, Lively embraced the “Gilded Glamour” theme and exuded a regal aura reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty. She entered, adorned in a resplendent rose-gold gown from Atelier Versace, with a layered puff train that gracefully cascaded into a teal trail, symbolizing the statue’s color metamorphosis over the years. Reynolds looked dashing beside his wife in a velvety brown tuxedo from Ralph Lauren.

Additionally, at the 2021 Met Gala, their second appearance at the event, Lively and Reynolds showed impeccable coordination in line with the theme, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.” Lively’s goddess-like aura radiated from her shimmering gold Atelier Versace gown with long sleeves, and a blue feather detailing at the train, while Reynolds sported a dark blue tuxedo, elegantly matched with a blue velvet bow tie that harmonized with Lively’s train.
