The expected coronation of British King Charles III and Queen Camilla is fast approaching, and with it comes a line of eight young lads who will be an integral part of this wonderful ceremony. These guests of honor, as they are referred to, will be tasked with looking to the king and queen consort and participating in activities such as the carrying of ceremonial robes.
The announcement of the eight pages caused quite a stir, especially as the King’s pages will include his grandson, Prince George, who is second in line to the British throne. Also accompanying the young prince will be Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Master Nicholas Barclay, and Master Ralph Tollemache.
But that’s not all – the Queen Consort will also have her grandsons, Master Gus, Master Louis Lopes, and Master Freddy Parker Bowles, by her side, as well as her great-nephew, Master Arthur Elliot. These little ones have a big influence on the coronation proceedings, and with their diverse backgrounds and royal connections, there’s no doubt that they will bring a unique and fascinating energy to the event.
Prince George, at just nine years old, is King Charles’ the oldest grandson and has been a beloved public figure since his birth. He is the first-born son of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales. He has two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. He is joined by Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, 13, who is the son of Sarah Rose Hanbury and David George Philip Cholmondeley, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and Lord of the Court to King Charles.
Master Nicholas Barclay, 13, is the grandson of Sarah Troughton, a second cousin of King Charles, and Camilla’s close friend. He is the son of Rose Barclay, one of three children of Sarah and husband Peter Troughton. Meanwhile, Master Ralph Tollemache, 12, is the son of the King’s godson, Edward Tollemache. Ralph’s grandparents, Lord Timothy Tollemache, 5th Baron Tollemache, and Lady Xa Tollemache, are also close friends of King Charles and Camilla.
The Queen Consort’s grandsons, twins Gus and Louis Lopes, 12, are the children of Laura Lopes and Harry Lopes. Laura, 45,is the youngest child of Camilla and ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles and she married her husband, the grandson of Lord Astor of Hever, in 2006. The couple have three children: Eliza, Gus, and Louis. The Queen Consort’s eldest grandson, Master Freddy Parker Bowles, 13, is the son of Thomas Henry Charles Parker Bowles and Sarah Buys. Thomas, 48, is the eldest child of Camilla and ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, and King Charles is his godfather. Thomas married Sara in September 2005, and the two finally separated in 2018. They have two kids, Lola and Freddy.
Last but not least, Master Arthur Elliot, 11, is Queen Camilla’s great-nephew, with his grandmother Annabel Elliot being Camilla’s sister. His parents are Ben Elliot and Mary-Clare Winwood, and he will certainly bring a unique perspective to the ceremony.
